BRACING REQUIRENTS
HOW CAN WE IDENTIFY BRACING ELEMENTS FROM THE PLANS? reading through the plans or asking tutor if your not sure
WHY DID WE FIX BRACING STRAPS ON THE TRIMMER STUDS AND LINTELS?it si because if the wind blows at it..the bracing straps will hold everything together or down
HOW MANY NAILS DID WE USE AND WHAT WERE THEY?we put 6 at the bootom and 4 at the top..they were galvanised flat head nails...............

WALL FRAMING REQUIREMENTS...
1/find the length of the walls a,b,c,d?-A 5700, B,3100,C 3100,D 4320
2/a wall has astructure compents name them all and state their functions-
-The bottom plate sets on the subfloor, nails through the subfloor into floor joists
-the top plate is the horizontal framing which runs along the top of the joists,
-Stud is an upright post in the framework of a wall for supporting sheets of lath, wallboard, or similar material
-Nog is a wooden block built into a masonry wall to hold nails that support joinery structures.trimmer ,
-Lintel a horizontal structural member, such as a beam or stone, that spans an opening, as between the uprights of a door or window or between two columns or piers.
double joists..
-trimmer joist - joist that receives the end of a header in floor or roof framing in order to leave an opening for a staircase or chimney
3/what timber treatment is the bottom plate and why?
4/how do we set our wall frames?when con structing wall framing-

4/how do we set our wall frames?when con structing wall framing-
- use a top plate the same width as the studs
- straighen studs, where required ,as shown in nzs 3064
- position bottom plates to prevent capillary water risee behind the cladding (figures 14.7 and 14.8)
- provide resistance to horizontal loads with bracing complying with nzs 3604
- fix bottom plates of external walls according to figure 14.9.internal walls can be fixed using a range of options including shot fired fixings
- fix internal wall panels containing bracing as described in the bracing panel manufacturers's instructions (figure 14.10 to14.12 show typical details)

research
1...find information on wall cladding-plywood..
Direct-fixed, where the cladding is fixed directly to the timber or steel frame. Internal Moisture’ requires a thermal break where steel studs are used. Expanded polystyrene strips, 12mm minimum thick and fixed directly behind the Shadowclad® provide and effective thermal break.
Drained and well-ventilated cavity, where the cladding is fixed onto timber battens fixed over the timber frame

sub floor
1why did we use solid blocking--we use solid blocking so that it may hold studs togeather or hold floors up..they don't rote for ages..moisture can get into it but it will take it in but then get drained out
2describe the nailing pattern for the sheet flooring PERIMETER
